A couple weeks ago, my sister and her good friend Shauna put on a "Pop Up" restaurant at Pioneer Square's Delicatus. This idea is a fairly new culinary phenomenon where individual cooks will be invited by an existing restaurant to create their own, unique, one night only festival of food. So always the overachiever, Mary tackled this huge undertaking during her "break" from her old job before her new seasonal gig out east.
The menu and style was all up to them from the ground up, so they decided on Guajacan cuisine.
Anyway...all this to say, it was incredible. These two talented women put on one of the best dinners I've ever set eyes on...single handedly...for 60 people. The date of this affair coincidentally coincided with our dad's 60th birthday. Perfect, even more reason to celebrate.
Thank you Mary and Shauna for a delicious event!
